Comparison to email

At its heart, crypto, also known as blockchain, is a computer technology similar to email. But, instead of sending messages, you can make permanent and public transactions.

Distributed network

Crypto uses software and computers to form a peer-to-peer network. Crypto networks are distributed rather than owned by a single entity, enhancing their resilience.

Different types

There are many types of crypto networks. For example, the Bitcoin network, where "bitcoins" can be transacted, or other networks where digital assets can be traded, and even programmed.
